secretly gav thinks her parents don’t even really care ALL that much about whatever’s happening w her gender— they were just itching for an excuse to throw him out, get rid of that extra mouth, & they figured this reason, at least, would make sense to other adults.

bahorel is very tempted to go kick thénardier in the balls a couple time, but gav stops her— it’s kinda better this way, he says. he needed to get out of the house sooner or later. bahorel looks down at her, her square jaw locked angrily, says, yeah, sure, okay, and makes sure to hug gavroche as often as physically possible. that little kid doesn’t deserve this situation, bahorel thinks, but she’s sure as hell gonna make the best of it.
